Sự khác biệt giữa màng chống thấm và vải địa kỹ thuật là gì?
Geomembranes and geotextiles are two commonly used geotechnical materials. The application range of the two is not only very extensive, but also very similar in each application. The main and key difference is their primary function in each application. I believe that some companies or individuals who are not involved in this industry have such confusion when purchasing geotextiles and geomembranes. What are the differences between the two commonly used geotechnical materials? How should we distinguish between these two materials?
First, Material Composition
Màng chống thấm là vật liệu rào cản không thấm nước based on high molecular polymer. It is mainly divided into: (low density polyethylene) Màng chống thấm LDPE, (high density polyethylene) Màng chống thấm HDPE and EVA geomembrane.
Vải địa kỹ thuật are one of the new materials geosynthetics, and its finished product is cloth-like, so it is called geotextile. It is mainly một vật liệu địa kỹ thuật thấm nướcmade of synthetic fibers by needle punching or weaving.
Simply saying, geomembranes are impervious and geotextiles are permeable.

Second, Functional Characteristics
Geomembrane has excellent environmental stress crack resistance and excellent chemical corrosion resistance. It has small specific gravity, strong elongation, high adaptability to deformation, corrosion resistance, low temperature resistance.
Vải địa kỹ thuật are very strong because they use plastic synthetic fibers to maintain sufficient strength and elongation in both wet and dry conditions. Meawhile, it has excellent microbial resistance. What's more, because of the small openings in the fibers, it has tính thấm nước tốt. They can be combined with geomembranes to form a composite waterproofing material (which is called Màng composite hoặc vải địa kỹ thuật composite hoặc tên khác) which combines the properties of these two products.

Third, Primary Function
Based on the quite low permeability characteristics of geomembrane, it can meet the leak control or waterproofing requirements of railways, highways, sports halls, dams, hydraulic structures, tunnels, landfills, biogas pools, environmental protection projects and so forth.
Geotextiles have good water permeability and filtration properties, and are widely used in roads, railways, embankments, earth-rock dams, airports, sports fields and other projects to strengthen soft soil foundations.
Geomembrane and geotextile are often used in combination based on the requirements of different engineering projects. Geotextiles are used as the protective layer, cushion layer, drainage and filtrion layer, reinforced layer while geomembranes are used as waterproofing principle medium.
